“I believe as a Nurse Practitioner my relationship with my patient is based on trust, communication and education. Trust-my patients should be able to trust that I will provide them with the best and fact-based information without biases. Communication-my job includes listening as well as talking. My patients should feel they are heard and their concerns are addressed. Education-As a Nurse Practitioner, I firmly believe one of the most important aspects of healthcare is not only to treat the issue at hand, but to also provide information to prevent further issues/health concerns. Ultimately, I want my patients to feel they are empowered to make decisions and have control over their health with an understanding of their current situation and options.”

Biography

Raised as a Navy brat, Michelle vowed to find a place she loved and never move. This changed when she met, fell in love with, and married her college sweetheart who was an Army cadet. She continued to move and enjoyed being a wife, mother, and a nurse throughout her many ventures and geographical locations. Finally, she found the place she loves, and just at the right time as her husband retires from the Army. She and her family now call VA home.
